Elia was taken from us much too soon... In the brief time that she was here with us, Elia touched the hearts and lives of so many people, and even today her memories still are as vivid as they were in real life. Her absence has left us tremendously saddened because we love and miss her so much, but she also left us "a life time" of love and laughter, and so many wonderful memories.
Anita her mother, had so many hopes and dreams for her little girl's future, she often anticipated with enormous enthusiasm, watching Elia grow up to become an even more beautiful, and compassionate young lady than she already was; she looked forward to watching her and helping her to set and reach her goals in life and she had such great expectations for the many things Elia wanted to achieve and accomplish in the future, and she would have done so too. But sadly on that day in June of 1998, Anita's heart and her life was shattered and changed forever, all the things that Elia and she had planned and dreamed of doing together will never happen in this life, because Elia and four other friends, including her babysitter Francis, Francis' 5 yr. old and 19 month old grandaughters, Lysette and Stephanie Longoria, were killed in a tragic car accident. On that day Elia was "Gone Too Soon," from this life, but not from our thoughts and not from our hearts, nor has she gone so far from us that we can not reach out and touch her in our memories and in our prayers, her presence will always be with us.
Elia sweetie, even without trying to, you could always make us laugh; you are in Heaven with Jesus now and I hope that Maggie has found you; I made her promise me she would look for you and stay with you, before she too had to leave us. We miss you both so much and what keeps us going is knowing that we will be with both of you again someday.... but until then, please take care of Maggie for me, she is just a little girl too. I Love You !

A star fell from heaven ★
and lit up the night
with crystalline diamonds
and ribbons of light.
It sped as it sparkled
with silver and gold
through moonbeams sheer magic;
a sight to behold.

Since we parted, you have been sharing so much of us with those around you. The memories are so fresh and real. You hold on to us so tightly in your hearts - where we shall always be.Your concern has always been for us, but we wonder how you are doing. You will never know all of the prayers that have been prayed for you, the tears that have been shed over your grief and the concern that has been shown for you in a multitude of ways, but we find it so comforting to know you haven't been left alone.Please know that we are not alone, either. The death that hurt you the most has given me the gift of eternal life. God's promises have been fulfilled in us. When we left you, God was there, waiting, just as He promised. We're surrounded by perfect love. Never let anyone tell you God doesn't exist. If you need to be mad at Him for awhile, that's okay; He can handle it. But never let hate, anger or bitterness fuel you emotions. Talk to Him and let him talk to you. Listen for Him in the voices of the people who love and care about you, and let His Word reassure you that we are doing just fine.
